On Saturday 4th of July 2020, it is my Turn to Host the Zoom session and I have been toying around with which story to share with my zoom buddies or should I follow the set pattern of starting from birth and ancestry to date..Virtually impossible to cover 72 years life in 72 minutes. Just impossible considering, I have a few hundred interesting stories to share.
Which do I choose ?
I also remember as I was growing up I realised that older people like my grandmother kept telling me the same old stories of her life again and again.
I have an 88 year old neighbour an Aussie Bloke Ben who goes round the block twice a day and always carries special treats in his pocket for Bailey and he is so lonely that he wants to talk to someone and I am happy to lend him my deaf ear except it interrupts what I am doing in the garden.
Being deaf himself he speaks very softly and he tells me the same stories again and again.. True signs of Old Age, loneliness and the need to talk to someone plus onset of dementia.
I am not there yet but will reach that stage soon.
Son Anand told me one day "Dad you have some amazing stories about your life to tell, perhaps we start a weekly Pod Cast Like you telling me a different story each time and me conversing with you and popping questions etc so the Podcast does not become monotonous and rudderless. Great idea I said. Will we get around to it ? God Knows.
Then came the realisation that If I blog the stories as and when I feel like they will become the foundation for PodCasts if and if we ever get around to doing podcasts
